Welcome to the Arts & Industry Council |
The Arts & Industry Council (AIC), formerly the United Arts Council of Calhoun County, is Michigan's oldest incorporated non-profit arts council. The AIC provides marketing and technical services, professional development programs, and grants to more than 60 arts and cultural organizations and hundreds of Michigan artists. The AIC Events Calendar is the region's only one-stop source of information for arts/culture activity!
As Calhoun County's arts advocate, the AIC's mission is to improve quality of life through the arts by focusing on four strategic areas of action: 1) growing the arts and creative industries, 2) marketing the arts, 3) advocating for the arts, and 4) facilitating networks.
The AIC's new strategic plan places discernable emphasis on creative industries and cultural economic development. All of the new AIC programs and services outlined on this site have been requested by community stakeholders. We hope you'll find these tools useful and will come back to visit us often!

| Roy Van Loo, Jr.
My total subject interest is in nature in all its forms. Birds, animals, insects, flowers, and landscapes, all draw my attention and are fair game for my camera. Most of my photos are taken in the morning. I am out at sunrise, and quite often back home by the time some people are getting up. We have taken trips, but the majority of my photos have been taken within 20 miles of Battle Creek. I shoot with 35mm Nikon equipment. May you find pleasure in the things God has allowed me to see and photograph and then marvel at His creation, as I do.
