ABOUT THE EVENT
The EastEnd Studio & Gallery seeks to showcase the best contemporary fiber art in a juried competition, reflecting a wide range of work within the fiber medium. While fiber art traditionally focuses on the materials used and on the manual labor involved in creating the art piece, this competition will also judge fiber art works based on the message, emotion or meaning communicated by the piece – artwork that transcends the literal meaning of the materials themselves.
Fiber art encompasses artwork created with fibers taken from plants or animals, including, but not limited to: cotton, linen, wool, silk, grass, and the synthetic acrylics in common use today.
Work offered for sale will be sold as exhibited, but it will remain on site for the entire exhibition and be available for buyer pick-up during the stated pick-up times unless other arrangements are made. The buyer will receive a special pick-up ticket that will replace the artist’s pick-up ticket.
